I'm a Data Entry Operator. (It's exactly as it sounds, haha.) The company I work for has clients, most of which are insurance companies. They send us claims from clinics and hospitals, we scan them, and then enter the specific information they want (mostly names, addresses, dates, and diagnoses codes/charges), and send the information back to them digitally, so they can faster process the claims. We do some other stuff too, but that's most of it (and I can't really go into any detail because of HIPAA laws, and some of the contracts--apparently, I can be fired for even specifying which insurance companies are our clients).
It's terribly boring, but they let us have iPods/radios, so I spend several hours a day listening to music/audiobooks, and that's awesome. Unfortunately, I've rather started to develop carpal tunnel in both wrists (mostly my left one is bothering me), so that sucks. There are also some big changes going on within the company lately, and soon I'll be working at home, receiving the information to be ~entered~ via the internet. I need to get a KVM switch, so I can still use my PC monitor/keyboard/mouse with the work system, instead of having to switch cords around all the time.
